In Catalonia, design is an important activity with strong links to technology, communication, culture and economy. A distinctive design culture can be found in activities such as graphic design, industrial design, cuisine, trade, architecture, fashion, etc. Barcelona is also known for its 50 education centres, that offer design classes to more than 6,000 people each year. There are associations, prizes and events of an international level.
